Marvel Realm of Champions unveils another of its houses, the Gamma Horde

Earlier this week, Kabam shared the first info on another of Marvel Realm of Champions' houses, the Gamma Horde. It's home to various factions of the Hulks of the Horde, who are all now caught up in a struggle to determine their role in the turbulent Battleworld. All told, it doesn't seem to be the most inviting location, what with the less-than-friendly locals and green goo everywhere. Featuring areas such as the Killiseum, Badlands, and Dragon Boneyard, it certainly sounds like one of the Battleworld's deadliest places to be. Marvel Realm of Champions, if you didn't know, is an ambitious follow-up to Kabam's popular fighting game, Marvel Contest of Champions, which you can check out in…

Marvel Contest of Champions introduces the Soviet Union's answer to Captain America, Red Guardian

Marvel Contest of Champions' roster is set to expand once again with the arrival of its latest hero, Red Guardian. While his addition is undoubtedly pretty neat, I have to imagine that he was originally intended to make his grand appearance alongside the release of the since-delayed Black Widow, now slated to hit cinemas November 6th. Indeed, his in-game version is clearly inspired by the film's take on the character, who is said to be the Soviet equivalent of Captain America. He'll be portrayed by Stranger Things actor David Harbour in the upcoming film. Alexei Shostakov, otherwise known as Red Guardian, was one of the Soviet Union's deadliest pilots, ruling over the skies of Stalingrad…

BTS World's latest update adds brand-new chapter to Another Story, special events, and more

BTS World has today received a major update that focuses on Yoongi and adds a new chapter to the popular Another Story mode, fresh 5-star cards, special events, and more. Another Story is now into its second season, and it explores the alternate reality lives of each member of BTS. This gives fans some insight into their personalities and what they might have done if the band hadn't of formed. The second season sees them meeting at a special place called the Magic Shop, and this particular chapter explores Yoongi's journey to find a "piano of memories" after growing especially tired of his concern trip. On top of that, the update also introduces new 5-star cards of BTS and a 5-star card…

Marvel Super War completes its first original skin series with the arrival of Arcade Star-Lord

Marvel Super War has now wrapped up its first series of original skins with the addition of Arcade Star-Lord. This follows on from the arrival of Arcade Yondu, Arcade Groot, and Arcade Rocket Raccoon. From now until June 3rd, the new skin is discounted by 30%, and it actually looks pretty neat. There's even a bit of a backstory behind these skins, with the Guardians having been transformed into arcade game characters following a weapon test gone horribly wrong. They find themselves trapped within the Arcade World, which sounds fairly dangerous but certainly looks quite cool. Much like the earlier Arcade skins, the Arcade Star-Lord skin boasts a pixelated style, with its metallic blue col…

Mario Kart Tour's Jungle Tour begins today and takes players to a tropical rain forest

Mario Kart Tour's Jungle Tour is set to kick off later today at 11pm PT (or tomorrow morning if you're based in the UK, like me). Not a great deal is currently known about what it'll introduce, though we do know that it aims to push players to their limits in the tropical rain forest heat. The Jungle Tour follows on from the popular Flower Tour, which served up some neat rewards such as the Piranha Plant Parafoil, Red Kiddie Kart, Baby Daisy, the Flower Glider, and Birthday Girl Daisy. If you're wondering why you weren't able to get those last three, they were for Gold Pass subscribers only. The Flower Tour is almost over. Thanks for racing! Next up in #MarioKartTour: drivers will be pus…

Devil's Peak Fury delivers Mad Max-inspired thrills to iOS

Devil's Peak Fury is a Mad Max-inspired endless racing game that's just gone live on the App Store. Here, you'll be challenged to drift, nitro boost, and smash your way to victory through a deadly post-apocalyptic world. Along the way, you'll face off against many violent road warriors who would like nothing better than to run you off the road and ruin your day. Progressing further and achieving a longer distance will net you some all-new vehicles to master, so there should be a decent amount of variety on offer.  It's said to be fairly easy to get into, with a strong focus on delivering arcade action. Developer Jon Hilliard was also behind the popular Devil's Peak Rally, which seem…

Super Mecha Champions announces four-week crossover event with popular anime Granbelm

NetEase's Super Mecha Champions has today announced its first crossover event with popular anime series Granbelm. Over the course of 4 weeks, players will see the arrival of an all-new mode, playable pilots, a premium lucky house, and more. Granbelm, if you've never heard of it, revolves around a young girl named Mangetsu Kohinata, who bonds with a powerful mecha and becomes a hero. The Nexus-produced series was first released back in July of last year, and it seems to be fairly popular in Japan. During the crossover event, you'll have the chance to try out a special mode known as Mangetsu Battle, which mixes up the scenery of Mecha City and adds a special portal and some rune fragments to…

Nucleogenesis is an educational puzzler that teaches the basics of nuclear fusion

Nucleogenesis is an educational puzzler that teaches the basics of nuclear fusion

Developer Upsilon Alpha's Nucleogenesis is an educational spin on 2048 that teaches the basics of nuclear fusion. I won't pretend to be particularly knowledgeable on the topic, but the game's store page assures me that nucleogenesis "is the process of creating new elements through the process of fusion". You have to imagine that you're gravity at the centre of a star. So instead of matching numbers, like in 2048, you'll spend your time fusing elements until the star's core erupts. I published a game about the basics of nuclear fusion within stars... oh and it's free. from r/Physics And it's all backed by an electronic cover of Camille Saint-Saëns' Danse macabre – an interesti…

OneMan, the tongue-in-cheek brawler for iOS and Android, gets a major update

OneMan, the tongue-in-cheek brawler for iOS and Android, gets a major update

OneMan is a frantic one-finger brawler that first launched back in January. It sees you going up against hundreds of vicious baddies in an epic fight to the death. Its simple, tongue-in-cheek action will be instantly familiar to anyone who's played One Finger Death Punch or the stylish Hordes of Enemies, and the news today is that developer Francis Entereso has released a major update for the game, adding a host of fresh content to get stuck into. The biggest additions here are the new characters – one of which looks suspiciously like Baba Yaga himself, John Wick. You've also got some explosive powerups to try out, including Berserk and Blackout. Beyond that, there's a new speed r…

Spiritus is a stylish, ambitious open-world RPG for mobile

Spiritus is an upcoming RPG from developer TinyNerd that aims to deliver an infinite world of emergent gameplay opportunities and exciting adventure. You'll head out to explore your pixel art surroundings, taking in the sights and uncovering the world's rich history as you go. It's clearly a very ambitious title that's still fairly early on in development, but for those who find themselves intrigued, a pre-alpha is planned to arrive in the coming months. So what do you actually do in Spiritus? I gather that there's a fair bit of combat, though the real focus seems to be placed on traversing the world, customising your character, and helping others in need. You can do this by funding a lo…

Apple Arcade games Dead End Job, Explottens, and Redout: Space Assault get major updates

This week saw the release of an all-new Apple Arcade game, the stylish Neversong, as well as several updates for older titles. Explottens, the twin-stick shooter 'em up, got a tricky survival mode that pits you against progressively more challenging waves of enemies and bosses. It's said to be a fun way to earn extra coins and upgrade your arsenal. Redout: Space Assault's latest update improves the game's battle system, boosting the speed of player missiles, reducing the cooldown period between launches, and increasing the speed of your ship. This should also make it easier than ever to quickly change direction or perform evasive manoeuvres in the heat of intense battle. On top of the g…

Spingram is a smart spin on the Rubik's cube for iOS and Android

Spingram is a fun, fresh take on the basic premise behind the Rubik's cube. It's headed our way from developer Sandro Traettino, and it's set to launch for iOS and Android on May 10th. You'll swipe to rotate each of the game's 800+ puzzles until they match up to the given reference pattern. From that core concept, Sandro mines hours of tricky puzzle game fun, bolstered by a stylish minimalist aesthetic and some neat, player-friendly design decisions. These include a handy skip system for when/if a particular puzzle grows more frustrating than challenging. You'll also be able to personalise the experience to your liking by messing with the in-game colours or day and night modes. Spingram…

Deathtrap Dungeon might be the perfect couch co-op adventure for lockdown

Branching Narrative's newly released Deathtrap Dungeon is a digital adaptation of Ian Livingstone's classic Fighting Fantasy gamebook. It stars one of the UK's most versatile working actors, Eddie Marsan, and it's out right now for iOS and Android. It's said to lend itself well to turn-based couch co-op, what with its branching storyline and many tricky decisions to be made. If you have no prior experience with games like this, a decent comparison might be Netflix's Bandersnatch, though Deathtrap Dungeon obviously has a greater level of depth to its core mechanics. The original version launched all the way back in 1984 and sees you attempting to survive the Trial of Champions. This takes…
