Air Supply SOS feels like it's a real labour of love when you go hands-on with it. It's a straightforward arcade action game where you can move your character about the stream left and right, as well as thrusting upwards whilst shooting. To say it's inspired by games like Jetpac is a bit of an understatement. But Air Supply SOS is definitely more “homage” than “clone”. Described as an "homage to Jetpac from the old ZX Spectrum days", Air Supply SOS features arcade-oriented action, plenty to see and collect, and the visuals and music are vintage Speccy. Low-res shapes, bizarre mash-ups, basic colours, and pop culture references: this is the real deal, and the music sounds wonderfully authentic, due to being made on an actual ZX Spectrum.
