War Thunder live action trailer commemorates soldiers on the Russian Front during World War II

Video games are a wonderful kind of fantasy: each title a virtual universe governed by its own rules, an alternative reality that can be anything, shaped into whatever we like. The real world is far crueller. It has wars where one side incorrectly believes it has the right to wipe entire races off the face of the Earth. Where people give their lives, willingly or unwillingly, in the pursuit of the ideologies of those in charge. War Thunder's new live action video effort is a surprisingly thoughtful nod to the latter, while promoting one of their products from the former. I can't quite work out if it's in good taste, so I'll let you decide for yourself...…

Mobile version of War Thunder could let you battle PlayStation 4 and PC players

File this firmly in the 'rumour and speculation' file for now. We recently received a press release from Gaijin Entertainment, celebrating the success that console and PC combat sim War Thunder had amongst press at E3. You can read the press release here if you like. The bit that specifically caught my eye was the following; "War Thunder was the only game at E3 to have cross platform play working across five different platforms including PC, Mac OS, Linux, PlayStation 4 and a new unannounced platform, shown only behind closed doors". What is that unannounced platform? Let's do a little speculating. From a business standpoint, cross-platform play between PC, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4…
