Thai Arena of Valor "pro" Naphat "Tokyogurl" Warasin has been served prison time after getting caught cheating at the Southeast Asian Games 2025.

The all-female team was disqualified from the SEA Games after it was revealed mid-game that Tokyogurl was letting her boyfriend, Cheerio, play for her remotely. But it wasn't only against tournament rules: it was against Thailand's rules as well.

A Bangkok judge sentenced Tokyogurl and Cheerio to six months in prison. This sentence was reduced to three months in a detention center outside of a prison when the duo admitted to the charges.

Tokyogurl part of a strange and larger trend in esports community

Back in February 2026, the duo were charged with "colluding to obtain and disclose restricted computer access credentials and unlawfully accessing computer data protected by security measures." Thailand also felt they were sorta embarassing the country's image in esports.

Tokyogurl had been sharing her account with Cheerio, who was playing under her name remotely. Her access to the match was meant to be exclusive.

After being caught, Cheerio appeared pretty ashamed online. Tokyogurl simply said "sorry" online. It's unclear if she ever has played a video game in her life, or if this was some strange scheme that was being pulled from the start.

I've noticed that men often have a very desperate urge to prove they are better than women at video games, especially competitive settings. There have been many incidents where men pretend to be women in order to get into all-female tournaments, likely thinking they will easily win. Men are also obsessed with accusing trans women of doing the same, clearly projecting their own strange desires.

It should be noted that the Thai team was not doing that amazing at SEA Games before they were disqualified. So having Cheerio playing for them was clearly not creating insta-win conditions. Not even close.
