Remember that woman who pretended she was playing Arena of Valor at the 33rd SEA Games only to find out it was her boyfriend playing remotely for her? Well, now the duo has been arrested.

Naphat "Tokyogurl" Warasin and "Cheerio" have been arrested by Thailand's Crime Suppression Division as of Thursday, February 13th. The two admitted to cheating earlier in the year, with Cheerio sending out a big explanation on social media — and Tokyogurl giving a quick "sorry."

Why was Tokyogurl arrested?

According to the Bangkok Post, the two Arena of Valor players (well... Cheerio played it before) were charged with "colluding to obtain and disclose restricted computer access credentials and unlawfully accessing computer data protected by security measures."

To put it simply, Cheerio was logged into Tokyogurl's device and communicated with her during the tournament. An investigation found evidence on several mobile phones, including software installed on Tokyogurl's phone.

After Tokyogurl was found to be cheating, Thailand's all-female Arena of Valor team was disqualified from the SEA Games, a pretty prestigious event in Southeast Asia. On top of the disqualification, Tokyogurl and Cheerio were found guilty of  breaching the country's Computer Crime Act, which could lead to up to two years in prison and up to a $1K or so fine.

Now, Tokyogurl and Cheerio will have to wait until March 17th to see what the court decides.

“This case is not a simple game fraud,” said Police Major General Pattanasak Bubphasuwan, Commander of the Crime Suppression Division. “It is a technological crime that harms the dignity and honor of the nation.”

It's unclear if Tokyogurl ever played any game herself, especially on stream, or if it was all her boyfriend behind the scenes. Some claim she faked her entire career, but it's uncertain.
