It's been a tough few months for Supercell's Clash Royale, which has been steadily declining in monthly revenue into 2026.

Although still quite lucrative, the mobile esports community has definitely been quite skeptical of the game following the reveal. Especially after Supercell seemed to react to the shocking revenue decline with a Lil Wayne performance at the Clash Royale Half-Time Show.

In an attempt to get back on gamers' good side, CEO Ilkka Paananen, published a blog celebrating Clash Royale and its growing player base. However, gamers quickly noticed that he didn't mention streamer Nicholas "Jynxzi" or any other streamer who had grinded Clash Royale, keeping the game alive on Twitch and beyond.

Jynxzi called out Paananen himself, arguing that it was him and other content creators who were central to Clash Royale's revival.

"Definitely, it was just not me. It was me, Riley, Ken, Moe, I mean, so many creators that made the game better. Royale, I mean, the list goes on and on of how many people brought eyes to the game," he ranted on stream.

"So, it's not just me. I don't even give a f*** that they didn't put my name in here. I expected them not to put my name in here. [...] Where I draw the line in the sand is when they tried to take credit for the game's success.

"Read the lines, 'It's proof of what's possible when a talented team relentlessly focuses on making things better for players.' What?! None of the creators, none of the streamers, none of the YouTubers, none of the TikTokers? That's who's getting the credit? The team that murdered the game?! Are you f**king stupid?!"

Jynxzi went on to say that 2026 will be the "worst year ever" for the game. He was clearly fired up, causing the gaming community to jump to his defense. Many called Supercell out on social media, saying how insulting the message was since it appeared to purposefully leave out the impact content creators had on the game's popularity.

Supercell CEO responds to Jynxzi and backlash, but it's a little too late

On February 12th, Paananen took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that the blog post had been updated

He said: "Updated my blog post with something I should’ve included from the beginning: proper recognition of Royale creators whose passion — from tournaments to content to community building — was central to game's best year ever. That's on me, and me alone. I'm sorry."

The blog now includes a correction where Paananen notes that he saw the backlash and agreed: the original blog didn't acknowledge the content creators, pros, and streamers that inspired Clash Royale's resurgence. He went on to mention the streams and tournaments that made Clash Royale culturally relevant.

"The intent was never to diminish anyone's contribution," it reads. "But intent doesn't matter when the impact is real."

The gaming community was not impressed with the change, saying that it wasn't enough to erase how they'd originally treated Jynxzi. They claimed that "damage has already been done" and even accused him of using AI to write the correction.
