China is attempting to improve its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene.

Chinese esports organization Invictus Gaming recently announced that it will be holding tryouts for its MLBB team. Hopeful competitors must be at least 16 years old and have at least 400 Stars in Ranked.

In the application form, Invictus Gaming wrote: “This tryout is open to passionate MLBB players who are committed, coachable, and ready to improve in the competitive team environment."

China wants to level up in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

While China dominates in mobile MOBAs like Honor of Kings, it's newer to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene. The Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia have massive fanbases and successful teams for MLBB, but the MOONTON just released the game in China in 2025. The country is now playing catch-up to some pretty passionate countries

Invictus Gaming didn't even qualify for the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. The esports organization has only had luck (although not much) in China, getting to the Lower Bracket Finals of the China Professional Invitational 2025 Stage 1.

With the 2026 season ahead of them, which includes massive international expansion and plenty of huge tournaments, Invictus Gaming is hoping to step it up. It's unclear if the organization is only looking for Chinese players or welcoming talent from other countries.
