PUBG Mobile brings acclaimed fighting series The King of Fighters to the battlefield
When you are dropping into PUBG Mobile, it is important to quickly grab a decent weapon. A Sniper Rifle, an Assault Rifle, something to fend off those other dozens of players, equally armed to the teeth. What you don’t want to do is try to punch these walking armouries in the face, which makes this collaboration with The King of Fighters very confusing.
I am aware of the reason, it's marketing. But still, make it at least kind of relevant. Countless car collaborations are one thing, you can see the logic, but a fighting game? I like my crossovers to make some sense. I am not going to face my rocket launcher-wielding foe and yell, “Can you stand still for a moment while I come punch you?” It is grammatically incorrect for one. Would you stand still.

Back on target, you can stylise yourself after characters from everyone's third-favourite fighting series. Mai Shiranui offers a costume and firearm skin, Nakoruru’s Ainu attire is up for grabs, or you can saunter in with Iori Yagami’s red and black outfit. You could also collect some exclusive emotes, like the Wave Combo, or pose with the Inepu Ikashima Wanpe Chuie.
Those looking for a dramatic entrance can cruise in on the Arcane VS Glider, or show off your fandom with the King of Fighters Parachute. You could also pick up the Flame Dance Fan Pan that can enhance your signature moves across three levels during combat. I would die before level 1.
If you want cosmetics but not a character outfit, then you can try the Arcade KO Helmet and Backpack to bring the Arcade to the battlefield. Or, decorate your space with Chibi Iroi Yagami, Nakoruru, and Mai Shiranui gifts. Arguably, the best part of this collaboration, however, is being able to summon the Mamahaha Buddy. It is a hawk that follows you in battle.
This team-up gets a pass just for the hawk.
PUBG Mobile is available from the App Store and Google Play.
