PUBG Mobile 4.4 update leaks suggest the return of Pharaoh mode
The patch is expected to roll out globally around mid-May and will likely bring new cosmetics, events, modes, and more.
To begin with, Ferrari has yet to make its way into PUBG Mobile, despite Krafton officially announcing the collaboration back in December 2025.
With the F1 season having recently kicked off, there is a possibility that the partnership could drop with the 4.4 update.
Other leaks suggest that one of the game’s most popular yet challenging limited-time modes, Pharaoh Mode, could also make a return. It will feature a floating island, dynamic weather, special loot, Pharaoh boss, and more.
According to NoobMasterYT, a new weapon and character might also be introduced in the PUBG Mobile 4.4 update, based on previous update patterns and ongoing in-game events.
Moreover, a new battle pass will arrive, offering both free and premium rewards for players by earning RP points.
PUBG Mobile’s Focus on Casual Content Worries Competitive Community
Over the past few updates, Krafton has introduced multiple collaborations, limited-time modes, UI overhauls, and more in order to make PUBG Mobile more engaging for casual players. However, in the process, the publisher seems to have forgotten about the competitive community. Ongoing performance issues, such as lag and bugs, have a negative impact on the gameplay experience.
A Reddit user expressed their frustration over the PUBG Mobile 4.3 update: "They’ve outdone themselves on this one. I really thought they couldn’t make a worse update but apparently they can."
“First we have RP pass, then Bonus pass, prize path- and now we have WoW pass and pass for Home… whats next!? Ranked arena pass, metro royale pass?” another user stated.
At this point, it feels like Krafton is trying to turn PUBG Mobile into Fortnite with a strong focus on cosmetics and collaborations. However, this approach will eventually result in the loss of the loyal player base it has built over the years.
This is also evident in the fact that active player numbers have consistently declined over the past year, according to PlayerAuctions data.
While Krafton has made adjustments to the Promotion Matches system to make rank progression easier, it may not be enough to keep players engaged in the long run.
