PUBG Mobile's King of Fighters collaboration is sending me over the edge
Just when you thought there would be a break from PUBG Mobile collaborations, another is announced. This time it's King of Fighters.
Less than a week ago, PUBG Mobile announced a collaboration with Schott NYC, a leather jacket fashion brand. Uh, yep. Now, it's King of Fighters.
The collaboration between the battle royale and the fighting game will begin on January 30th.
No details were revealed just yet, but we assume that popular King of Fighters characters will join the battle. There will likely be King of Fighters cosmetics as well, available for a limited-time.
Gamers want PUBG Mobile to stop collaborating so often
For the past few years, gamers have expressed frustration with PUBG Mobile's continued collaborations. Similar to Fortnite, the overwhelming amount of collaborations makes the events feel way less special. At this point, gamers can't even keep track of how many PUBG Mobile collaborations there are.
"I would like to see someone put the brakes on the collabs and instead, see something that truly comes from the PUBG team and really means something and has value to the PUBG name," one fan wrote THREE YEARS AGO. That's how long it's been going on.
Even worse, the collaborations are with IPs that don't even make a lot of sense for PUBG Mobile's universe (if there is a universe anymore). This includes Angry Birds, Sonic the Hedgehog, Peaky Blinders, and even Balenciaga.
At this point, it just doesn't even feel like a legit battle royale anymore sometimes. It'd be nice if Krafton focused more on competitive updates and even fun events rather than shoving random IPs into the game at every waking moment.
