The M7 World Championship has become the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history.

The Grand Finals between Aurora Gaming PH and Alter Ego had over 5.68 million peak concurrent viewers, according to Esports Charts, putting it well past any other mobile esports event. It was an intense match that saw RORA win 4-0 over Alter Ego, the Philippines' sixth world title in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Tiger Xu, Global Head of MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, said in a press release: "The M7 has shown what MLBB Esports has grown into — a global ecosystem that unites millions of fans at the same moment. The record-breaking viewership we're celebrating is more than just a milestone; it's a signal of what's to come.

As more regions rise and audiences continue to grow, we enter a new phase where MLBB Esports is shaped collectively. Our focus now is on building an ecosystem that connects regions more deeply, supports long-term competitive development, and allows the global community to grow together. This is the foundation for the next chapter of MLBB Esports."

Esports Charts' CEO Artyom Odintsov added that mobile esports is clearly growing and attracting "mainstream audiences." The 5.68 million viewers tuned in to a variety of languages, including Indonesian, Tagalog, and Malaysian. It also saw a huge audience on TikTok Live.

The Jakarta-based event also showcased the passion of Indonesia's esports fans.

Irene Umar, Vice Minister of Creative Economy, graced the M7 Grand Finals day. Taking to the stage, she said: "This is the energy of Indonesia [that] we [are witnessing at] the opening of the M7. As the host [nation], I want to start of by saying thank you to MOONTON Games for infusing [Indonesian] culture into the Opening Ceremony... This is a moment to celebrate. This is a moment that reminds each and every one of us that the gaming industry is here to stay. This is a real industry. This is a real sport!"
