As Mobile Legends: Bang Bang looks to continue its international expansion in 2026, MOONTON has announced its renewed partnership with the Portuguese Esports Federation (FPDE).

This is the third year in a row that MOONTON has partnered with the FPDE. The goal is the continued growth of MLBB's esports scene in Portugal, which coincides with the country's own esports strategy: Vision 2030. This is a five-year plan that aims to establish Portugal as a leader in the esports industry.

“Through this partnership, we’re supporting Portugal’s national agenda while showcasing how MLBB Esports can be a meaningful part of Portugal’s competitive landscape,” said esports ecosystem lead for the larger EECA region at MOONTON Games, Vladislav Samokha, in a press release.

“With FPDE’s professional and long-term approach to ecosystem development, we’re building a local ecosystem where talent and passion can thrive.”

Portuguese Esports Cup 2026 to feature MLBB

As part of the partnership, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will return to the Portuguese Esports Cup for 2026. This event will be held in Fundao from June 4th to June 7th, featuring 16 esports titles.

Last year, the event had over 1.5 million impressions and 230,000 watch minutes. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was one of the most-watched titles.

While MLBB is most popular in Southeast Asia, the mobile MOBA has picked up in South America. Brazil and Portugal have a big mobile esports scene, drawn in by mobile games' focus on community and accessibility.

“This partnership with MOONTON Games represents a significant milestone for FPDE and demonstrates the viability of Portugal as a premium esports market,” said Pedro Honório da Silva, President of FPDE.

“Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has proven to be a community favourite, and we’re committed to providing world-class competitive opportunities for our players on the international stage.”
