Aurora Gaming PH meets with Philippines Senate after winning M7 World Championship

The Philippines has embraced esports as a serious competition, similar to traditional sports, with the M7 World Championship winners getting personally congratulated by the Senate. 

Aurora Gaming PH convincingly won the M7 World Championship, defeating Alter Ego in the Grand Finals with a score of 4-0. The M7 World Championship also became the most-watched mobile esports tournament in history, showing the significance of the win to Southeast Asia and beyond. 

Aurora Gaming PH congratulated by Philippines Senate

On February 3rd, Aurora Gaming PH attended the Senate's 41st plenary session. Resolution No. 276 was an official congratulations to the squad for winning the M7 World Championship. 

Aurora Gaming PH's M7 victory is just one of many times the Philippines has dominated in mobile esports, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. A Filipino team has won the M World Championship for the past six years. The country also won gold for MLBB at the 33rd SEA Games. 

The Philippines' passion for mobile esports has been acknowledged outside of Southeast Asia, with Team Liquid signing a Filipino MLBB team, wanting to get in on the hype.
