Play Together risks the wrath of the witch catchers in its latest update

After aliens, fog monsters, and watery eldritch horrors, it appears that Haegin has fired H.P. Lovecraft and decided to go back to the family-friendly approach for Play Together. It is time to bubble your cauldrons and wax your wands, as the Magic Potion Shop opens on Kaia Island. Nothing bad ever happens with witches, right?

Venture forth to this Magic Potion Shop and you will be greeted by the witch Potia, who is more than happy to teach you her mystical ways. In order to learn, however, you will need to hone your fishing skills and master the way of the bug catcher by getting beaten really badly by a child in Pokémon. 

You will assist Potia with fulfilling a wide range of customer requests, which will entail heading into the wild world of Kaia Island and gathering ingredients. You will then get to create a host of alchemical goodies. If you manage to complete the four story quests related to the Love, Happiness, Luck, and Sparkling Potions, one of them definitely sticks out; you’ll earn some very cool rewards.

Complete the quests, and you’ll walk away with the Witch’s Sidekick Hat, Boots, and that most important of Witch gear, the Overalls. As you create your wondrous vials, you will also fill out Portia’s Magic Ingredient Codex. Doing this will net you Gems, currency, and the Magic Cauldron, which comes with the bathing motion. 

As you complete these quests, you’ll find your pockets laden with Magic Coins. These can be quite literally fed to the coin-eating Magic Hat, who will then, I assume, burp up gifts like interior decorations, a flying broom mount, and the Apprentice Witch costume. Who knew that to be a witch, you just needed to shove coins into a hat?

Play Together is available from the App Store and Google Play. Users of LINE and Kakao can also enjoy the game's first set of animated emotes, so be sure to spam your friends.
