The Safari Zone is a special place in the Pokémon series. It holds rare friends to catch in the games, and it’s where Ash almost met an early demise in the anime's widely banned episode. Pokémon Go is continuing this tradition, bringing the City Safari to five cities this September.

Heading to one of these in person will not only give you an excuse to visit a potentially new place, but you can also encounter location-themed Pokémon. There will be Special Research tasks to tackle that highlight the local area's sights and sounds for nice rewards.

Now for the important part: where this is happening. Bangkok in Thailand, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Valencia in Spain, Vancouver in Canada, and Cancun in Mexico will be the special places to visit this year.

There is one main reason to attend: ticket-holders will encounter an Eevee in an explorer hat! As well as the Eevee Explorers Timed Research. You can also encounter Mudbray across all City Safari locations, the only place where they can be found right now. And yet, Eevee in a hat matters more.

For more fun, all ticket-holders will receive a host of bonuses between 10:00 and 18:00 on their days. There will be an increased chance to encounter Shiny Pokémon, Lure Modules lasting 4 hours, and the chance for your buddy to find the exclusive Tiny Compass souvenir. It will also be a great time to trade, as they will require 50% less Stardust, and you can make up to five Special Trades on the day.

Tickets will cost 10 EUR and can be purchased from the City Safari website. If you feel like doubling up, then you can enjoy a second day for 8 EUR. Pokémon Go is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
