Pokemon Go Pass: June brings a delightful encounter with one of the original legandaries

It is now June, and you know what that means: absolutely nothing special whatsoever! It's a bland month, but thankfully, Pokémon Go is here to jazz it up with the June Go Pass. We will be seeing the return of the Lucky Trinket and a special visit from the majestic ice bird, Articuno. 

For those who don’t know, you can probably guess; it's the game’s Battle Pass. But, how many of them can claim to give you control over one of the original legendary bird trio? Between today and July 1st, you can start racking up the Go Points, with the key reward for the free tier being an Articuno encounter with the Delightful Days Special Background.

You will also collect other helpful goodies along the way, like Candy, Stardust, Max Particles, and Poke Balls. The last one might not sound so valuable, but speaking as someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, they are as sacred as gold. They must be hoarded and used sparingly. None for you, Ratatta number 9,679,777! The Candy isn't worth it!

As much as I don’t like to tout the payables in video games, it is worth touching on this month's Deluxe pass. The final reward is the Lucky Trinket, which sets one of your friends as a Lucky Friend. What this means is the next time you trade with them, you will get a Lucky Pokémon. I was fortunate enough to get a Lucky Riolu from a friend by chance, and looking at his stats, I can see why it would be very tempting to shell out for this.

Whichever track you are on, you can also benefit from milestone rewards as you chug on by. Tier 1 at Rank 25 will get you 50% more XP from increasing Friendship level, Tier 2 at Rank 50 gets more XP and Stardust from Research Breakthrough rewards, and finally Tier 3 at Rank 75 gets you extra Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs.
