Pokémon Go reveals June Community Day to help you scale-up your party
The Pokémon Company has revealed a Community Day in late June for Pokémon Go, and it is just fine, I suppose. It will be celebrating Jangmo-o, who is okay if you like that kind of thing. Something worth noting is that you can also unlock a special attack during this event.
The biggest issue with this Pokémon is that it is quite a hassle to evolve, being very rare and needing a lot of candy. Although that's much easier during the Community Day, of course. Anyway, if you put in the effort, you get a Kommo-o, who just doesn’t blow you away, unfortunately. It is one of the evolution lines that gets progressively worse-looking, in my opinion.
Personal thoughts aside, you can catch the scaly dragon-type roaming the wilds on June 21st, between 14:00 and 17:00. If you want to evolve them, you will want to be out early to catch enough. Evolving Hakamo-o, Jangmo-os’ second stage, between June 21st and June 28th, will get you a Kommo-o with the Clanging Scales Charged Attack.

It is a move with 120 power, which also decreases defence in Trainer battles, which is a nice extra benefit. During the three-hour event window, you can also enjoy a host of bonuses. Lure Modules and Incense will activate for three hours, Trainers level 31 and up will have a double chance to receive a Candy XL, and you will get double Candy and triple XP for catching Pokémon. From 14:00 to 20:00, trades will cost 50% less Stardust, and you will have three Special Trade opportunities. Also, taking a few snapshots just might get you a surprise.
Logging in on the Community Day will unlock a Timed Research, which leads to an encounter with a Jangmo-o with a Delightful Days Special Background. Completing it will also increase your chance of finding a shiny Jangmo-o. You will also want to keep an eye out for Showcases taking place at PokéStops during the event.
Pokémon Go is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
