PUBG Mobile just might be dipping its toe into some murky waters with its latest collaboration. Krafton has announced a team-up with global artist G-Dragon, who is affiliated with Galaxy Corporation, an AI entertainment tech company. AI is quite the trigger word, so let’s not dwell too much on that.

On the face of it, landing G-Dragon is quite the coup; he is quite the big name. Being dubbed the “King of K-Pop," it just goes to show how little I know of that world since I've never heard of him. Either way, the guy has stacks of awards to his name; we can be sure the event will pop off.

Therein lies the rub, however. We don’t really know what the crossover is going to bring. The teaser trailer that was released at Las Vegas was of little help. And I can’t stop thinking a little pretentious, but that is by the by. What we do know is that it is a collaboration across PUBG Mobile and PUBG, which can only mean it will be big.

We also have the date. At least for PUBG Mobile, and quite frankly, we don’t care about the other one here, so happy days. You are going to want to mark your calendars for September 19th, for the mysterious fun starts then. Given that Krafton already worked with the likes of Blackpink to successful effect, we can be forgiven for feeling excited.

For those fans in South Korea, there is an additional treat in store. There will be a special PUBG offline event taking place in Seongsu, so book your open-ended flights now. If you can’t travel, then no worries, as Krafton confirmed there are other on-site events planned worldwide too.

PUBG Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
