VALORANT Mobile bans thousands of cheaters

VALORANT Mobile is working hard on busting cheaters. 

The highly anticipated mobile shooter recently banned thousands of cheaters as Riot Games continues to improve its anti-cheat. 

What anti-cheat does VALORANT Mobile use?

VALORANT on PC notoriously uses Vanguard, but what is Riot using for VALORANT Mobile? 

VALORANT Mobile uses a different anti-cheat system than the PC version. Right now, it's likely that Riot uses a hardware-based anti-cheat system to detect hacking and banned setups, hoping to catch gamers with unfair advantages like using a mouse and keyboard. 

Android could have extra security measures as well due to the addition of Tencent's ACE (Anti-Cheat Expert) program. VALORANT Mobile on Android could possibly detect if players are streaming their screen to PC using a sound-based analysis. 

While the system itself may be different, VALORANT Mobile users have noticed that the anti-cheat works similarly to Vanguard on PC. When a violation is detected, gamers are automatically banned. This could be for a long while or even permanently, based on the offense and how many times they've been caught. The game is also terminated, meaning the punished cheater won't impact other players' rankings. 

It's still unclear when VALORANT Mobile will be released worldwide, but it appears to be getting closer. It may even come this year, although Riot hasn't confirmed anything.
