Global fans sidelined again as Riot Games reveals another VALORANT Mobile China event
Featuring a prize pool of RMB 6 million ($869,880), the event will run throughout 2026 and conclude with the Grand Finals taking place in Shanghai.
Moreover, the top-performing teams will earn the opportunity to compete in international events, though the publisher is yet to reveal further details.
The VALORANT PC and Mobile National Tournament will kick off with the registered squads fighting in the Alpha Stage during the first half of 2026.
From there, the top teams will advance to the Omega Stage taking place in the second half of the year.
The qualified teams will be divided into Southern and Northern regional pools, with the regional winners facing off in the Grand Finals to decide the ultimate champions.
The VALORANT Mobile competition will begin in March, followed by the PC tournament in April. However, registration details along with the full event schedule will be announced in mid-March.
While the VALORANT PC and Mobile National Tournament will welcome live audience, the matches will also be streamed on Bilibili, Douyin, Huya, and more.
VALORANT Mobile’s Global Launch Remains a Mystery
VALORANT Mobile was first announced back in June 2021, and four years later it finally arrived in China in August 2025.While announcing its launch in April 2025, Riot Games stated that they were “starting in China and taking it from there,” adding that the company would “of course update you as our plans develop further.”
However, nearly a year has passed, and while Riot continues to introduce new content and tournaments to grow the Chinese ecosystem, the publisher has remained silent about VALORANT Mobile’s global launch.
As a result, the frustration within the community is on the rise, with many fearing that the title could face a similar fate as that of League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Riot Games has had a lot of time to gather feedback from Chinese VALORANT Mobile players and establish a local esports scene in the country. God knows what’s stopping them from at least giving a little hope to global fans.
However, the time is ticking, and if we don’t hear something by the end of 2026, the damage caused could be really hard to recover from.
