We're streaming Modern Combat 5: Blackout live on Twitch (5pm UK | 9am Pacific | 12 noon Eastern)

Only a couple of days left till Modern Combat 5: Blackout hits the App Store! As such, we're continuing Modern Combat week on our Twitch channel today, streaming an hour or more of Modern Combat 5: Blackout! In case you missed it, we had a Modern Combat retrospective yesterday. We found that as time has gone on, each iteration of the Modern Combat series has been tighter, more graphically oustanding, and even more explosive than the game before it. New Modern Combat 5 classes and XP system revealed

Gameloft has just revealed more details about Modern Combat 5: Blackout, outlining the game’s multiplayer classes and level progression system. This new reveal has swung the focus back towards multiplayer, outlining the four character classes: Assault, Heavy, Recon, and Sniper. The four soldiers types are all archetypal, with Recon equipped for close range, the Sniper specialising in distance, and the other classes sopping up everything in between. That said, the class list does show an absence of any support roles, indicating that the focus is on all-out action. We've also been given details a…

Modern Combat 5 to feature shorter missions and anarchy

The newly titled Modern Combat: Blackout, the fifth instalment in Gameloft’s popular military shooter, plans to take you from Venice to Tokyo in its single player campaign. This time out, the team has focused on shorter missions for the new game's single player mode to deliver a more varied experience. They claim this has allowed them to create more intense stages that deliver more moment-to-moment gameplay than in previous instalments. The story will follow the character of Phoenix on a mission to secure a transport of WMD’s from a terrorist group in Venice. As the story unfolds, Phoenix will move to Tokyo, which is in a state of civil unrest, where he must try to convinc…
