Hitman World of Assassination launches on Apple with free-to-play levels

IO Interactive is expanding its suite of Hitman games on mobile today, with the official launch of the World of Assassination. Sadly, it is only on iPhone and iPad, so if you are an Android user, you will need to go weep in a corner. For Apple wielders, however, read on.

As a quick recap, the World of Assassination is technically three games. It comprises of the most recent Hitman trilogy that started launching in 2016 as a sort of soft reboot after Absolution. It was a move that was done to make it simpler to release content packs and new missions across all the available maps.

Why was that history lesson important? Because it is good to keep in mind that you are enjoying three games when you hear the price. Hitman World of Assassination will be retailing at $69.99, which is pretty rough, no two ways about it. You can save some money by buying each of the 24 locations individually for $2.99 each.

If you are still on the fence, then good news. You are able to try out two levels for free. The ICA Facility training mission functions as a tutorial, set in a smaller area than the usual maps. There are still plenty of opportunities for mischief, however, for a few hours of fun. You can also take on the Sebastian Principle Escalation. You are fairly railroaded here, but it introduces you to more of the Hitman concepts.

At this point, IOI is racking up quite the mobile experience level, so you can rest easy that World of Assassination has been sufficiently optimized. Between context-sensitive buttons that adapt to your surroundings and MetalFX for crisp graphics, you will be able to enjoy all of Agent 47’s adventures in comfort.

In a final piece of good news, the excellent Freelancer mode will be added later this year for endless fun. You can check out Hitman World of Assassination on the App Store.
