The King of Fighters AFK celebrates its first anniversary with a new Iori Yagami style
When The King of Fighters AFK was released last year, I was sceptical. How would a fighting game, a famously dynamic genre, adapt to being an idler? Well, apparently quite well, as Netmarble are now celebrating the game's first anniversary. Players can hop in and enjoy a host of rewards, including the return of an icon.
Protagonist rival Iori Yagami is debuting a new style from KOF XIII, and he is available with a double summon rate for a limited time. Simply spam the Iori Yagami Arrival Event that runs until September 16th. You can also hit the Rush Synergy Pick-Up summons to build a team around your new favourite antihero.
If you are more of a Fatal Fury fan, the Terry Bogard Rerun Arrival Event is giving you a chance to pick up the behatted fighter until September 16th. A new Keepsake for him has also been added, with synergy for Deathblow users. Perfect if your preferred strategy is simply hitting someone really, really hard.

Complete your team with some legendary backup
Of course, this isn’t a game just about the fighters. Mostly, but not all. The Fighters Fiesta is on until September 16th and gives players a chance to recruit the Legendary Pets Nitro and Hippaka. You can add to this menagerie with the equally Legendary Pets Sin and Bonnet when the Happy Picnic takes place between September 10th and the 23rd.Round up your roster in the Lucky Elpy Event, lasting from September 7th to the 11th, offering players the opportunity to pick up Legendary Support Lawrence Blood. Finally, after completing your team, unwind with the Shaky Shaky Cafe mini-game that is sticking around until September 11th.
If you fancy a big load of Rubies, one million to be exact, then take part in the 1st Anniversary Survey before September 16th. That is an astonishing reward for answering a few questions, so don’t miss out. The King of Fighters AFK is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
