You might remember last year when England entered a state of emergency, as a giant Captain Pikachu stalked the streets, or more specifically, around Outernet London. Turned out it wasn’t an invasion, it was an event held by Pokémon TCG Pocket, and across November 8th and 9th, it will be returning for the second year.

Pikachu has traded in his Captain's pips, and instead has learnt how to scratch as DJ Pikachu will be taking over the New Pop 1 room and playing a selection from its popper set. You can also have a meet and greet with the world's most famous rat. Sorry, Rattatta. You can also partake in a wonder pick to receive a code for between 12 and 120 pack hourglasses, depending on the card's rarity.

Moving away from giant Pokémon, although why would you, you can instead hit the atrium of the Now Building for some giant screens instead. There will be a host of digital experiences here, including opening a pack with motion control. Or walk to Forbidden Planet and buy a physical pack for a better experience, I guess. Other suppliers are available.

Democracy is in full swing here as certain activities, including a mega-sized pack opening from Mega Rising, will be driven by directions from trainers. We don’t know what these are, but you can use the event microsite to decide. The correct answer is always Mega Lucario, just by the by.

Walk over to the Now Arcade, and you will be able to help fill up a community card binder. Hunt around for hidden QR codes, and you will be able to add a card of your own to it. Finally, the Now Pop 2 room will be showcasing demos for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which includes Mega Starmie. The scariest thing we shall see this Halloween.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
