An in-game quiz hints at a possibly massive collab for PUBG Mobile

PUBG Mobile is teasing an upcoming update, which likely means more collaborations. But which one is next? 

The 4.2 update is expected to arrive in January 2026, and players are already pretty sure they know what's coming next month. Especially after an in-game quiz that arrived earlier today. 

Is Groot coming to PUBG Mobile? 

Developers recently shared an official teaser for the upcoming collaboration coming to PUBG Mobile. This included an in-game quiz with plenty of hints about the potential theme. 

The theme? Nature. You can see forest-like elements everywhere, which is a big change from the current winter-themed update. While a bunch of trees would already be enough to excite PUBG Mobile players after the very underwhelming recent pass and cosmetics, it gets a bit more interesting. 

A tree-like humanoid appears in the quiz, which looks very much like Groot from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. It's not really confirmed if the character is Groot or not, but it's not all that shocking since PUBG Mobile does collaborations with much more obscure stuff than that.     At least Marvel would make sense, although a bit overplayed. 

When is Groot coming to PUBG Mobile?

Okay, okay, we don't know if it's Groot quite yet. But the 4.2 update is coming very soon. We expect the beta version to drop this month. You'll get to experience the forests and its magical plants - and drive new vehicles - firsthand.       

 

 

The full update is coming in January 2026, although no official date has been given just yet. We believe it'll be the first half, if that makes you feel any better.
