PUBG Mobile's Happy Friend Fest brings Valentine's Day to Erangel

If you feel alone on Valentine's Day, don't fret: PUBG Mobile has your back with its very strange event, Happy Friend Fest. 

This friend-focused February event starts January 25th, giving you all the time to prepare. AKA find a friend who will participate in this Happy Friend Fest event with you. 

Break a Guinness World Record in PUBG Mobile

In Friend Fest, classic and new game modes go live later this month. This includes the Bonding Tree checkpoint in Erangel and Livik, which will change to pink and be surrounded by a sea of flowers. If you spawn in around the tree, solo or as a team, you'll unlock "dream-like dance stage effects." 

This area also allows for some new flower gifting gameplay. You can pick different color flowers to create various bouquets to gift your friends and lovers. Gifting certain bouquets to people unlocks different interactions made for duos, like ballroom dancing. You will also unlock limited time cosmetics depending on the bouquet you give, including a Flower Crown and Sunflower Cover. 

They're not the most intense cosmetics in PUBG Mobile, but it will prove that you have friends if you wear one. 

The "Blossom Season of Romance" will also begin. You can complete missions to get Friend Tokens, which can be accumulated to unlock a limited-edition avatar. There are also rewards if a certain amount of players send flowers during this event. 

Then, you can try to get PUBG Mobile into the Guinness World Records for "Most Pairs Performing a Choreographed Handshake." Players in Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan can take part. Participating gets you the Super Handshake emote. 

Said PUBG Mobile: "Let's witness the birth of a new record together."

This is all very strange to me, but maybe I'm not romantic enough for this odd event. Still, I'll take it over the fashion crossovers that have been happening lately. At least this one inspires you to hang out with friends and do stuff together in-game.
