If you asked me for my favourite game of all time, I would be torn, but Persona 4 Golden would be up there. What a fantastic series. Unfortunately, 5 sucked, yet we must discuss it today, for they are collaborating with Call of Duty Mobile in an event that kicks off July 1st.

Unfortunately, you won’t be summoning Yoshitsune and clearing the map with Hassou Tobi. Instead, the collaboration rears its head in a slightly unusual way: the Plunder Treasure Hunt. You will harness your inner Phantom Thief to smash through waves of defences and loot some precious treasure.

During games on the Isolated map, certain areas will be highlighted red on everyone's map. Head over there, and you will enter a new domain with a HUD shift and a visual change into Persona 5 Royal territory. Then, three waves of Shadows will descend upon you, forcing a fight for both your life and loot.

Do you have what it takes to defeat Shadows and other squads?

Defeat these monsters, and any number of other player squads who head to this area, and you will be rolling in cash and Persona masks that imbue bonuses for the rest of the match. Will you blaze straight in and fight face to face, or stand to the side and ambush the victor?

Outside this game mode, you can take part in a Persona 5 Royal-themed shooting gallery inspired by the title's palaces. Here you will unlock milestone rewards, including a motorcycle skin inspired by Ryuji Sakamoto, and a Morgana Backpack, which I will be immediately stomping into the ground. I can’t stand Morgana.

Finally, you can head to the Persona 5 Royal Operator Series Armoury to unlock skins of Joker, Panther, Queen, and Violet, as well as four Legendary Blueprints themed after the aforementioned Phantom Thieves. They might not have their Personas, but they do add a bit of style.

Call of Duty Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
