North American esports organisation Tribe Gaming has laid off a bunch of staff members across its social and creative departments.

While the exact number of the employees affected is unknown, AppSpy has spotted six posts on X (Twitter) and LinkedIn so far.

Cody Gray, Senior Social Media Manager at Tribe Gaming, shared on X: “Unfortunately, I was laid off from TribeGaming today.

“It’s hard to put into words just how much this company meant to me: the people, the work, the players, the creators, every piece of the brand. These past six years have been nothing short of amazing.”

Gray joined the organization as a Creative Intern and was promoted to Social Media manager within five months, before he started leading the social team in 2024.

Project Manager Roger G. also expressed gratitude to the management and colleagues he worked with at Tribe Gaming in a LinkedIn post.

“After seven wonderful years at Tribe Gaming, the time has come to turn the page. Leaving a company that felt like family for a quarter of my life is not easy, but life works in mysterious ways and I cannot wait to see what comes next,” Roger stated.

On the creative side, the Senior Art Director Jay Braga and Art Director Bruno Guterres were also among those laid off. Both of them are now searching for new full-time opportunities or freelance work.

Other employees who are no longer part of Tribe Gaming include its Graphic Designer Lucas Dias, and 3D Artist Leon Lucas.

Esports has already been a pretty unsustainable industry for a long time, and with the current global economic mess combined with AI straight-up eating thousands of jobs, layoffs don’t even surprise us anymore.

Tribe Gaming’s Presence in Mobile Esports

Tribe Gaming was founded in 2017 with a focus on the mobile esports scene and content creation.

The organization started off by fielding rosters in Clash Royale and Clash of Clans before expanding into other titles such as Brawl Stars, Call of Duty: Mobile, and PUBG Mobile.

Some of the biggest achievements of Tribe Gaming include winning the Clash of Clans World Championship 2025 after securing top three finishes in the 2024, 2022, and 2021 editions.

Meanwhile, its COD Mobile roster lifted the World Championship trophy in 2022, although the team failed to make an appearance at the crowning event last year.
