This is unexpected. The latest Garena: Free Fire update is introducing an aquatic zone and water-inspired weapons.

"Undersea Mystery" is the first water-themed update in Free Fire, and it's looking quite interesting.

Free Fire: Undersea Mystery update

In the battle royale, Undersea Mystery adds an aquatic zone to the map. It's a whirlpool located at the dam, sucking players into the Undersea Realm. The traditional Blue Zone is also replaced with the Hydro Zone, which has high-tier equipment hidden beneath the waves. In Clash Squad, you can jump into a dedicated map with the Undersea Realm as well.

During this special event, you can complete tasks, earn tokens, summon sea creatures, and unlock various fish species. If you come across a rare fish, you get bonus tokens. A themed emote is available as the grand reward.

Throughout the season, you can unlock and earn water-themed cosmetics. This includes the dolphin headware, amphibious car skin, and more. There are also bundles with various effects and animations.

Ray joins as a new character

Ray is a combat-focused character that is meant for more aggressive players. He will mark the first enemy he hits, creating a temporary link between them. If this connected enemy reaches a certain HP, they are immediately knocked out. Ray will recover his HP.

This definitely encourages characters to jump into battle. It could end up shaping the meta ahead of the Esports World Cup
