When you first look at Guardian Tales, you would be forgiven for thinking it is just a sweet, cozy RPG. The story does get a little dark, however, so perhaps it is not a big surprise that Motion Twin came a-knockin' on Kakao Games' door. And if you don’t know that name, maybe you know Dead Cells instead.

Yep, noted rock-hard roguelike legend Dead Cells is invading Guardian Tales, and I for one am incredibly excited. It is one of the only roguelikes I can tolerate, and I absolutely adore it. I guess it is also pixelated, so it was clearly always going to happen.

First, the bad news. This is a limited-time collaboration. It will only be available through September, so make sure you don’t miss out. Now for the really bad news: The Prisoner has turned against us. In a way, at least. Dark Mage Beth has claimed the power of the Dead Cells hero, mostly the head part, and has become Dead Cells Prisoner Beth. A remarkably unintimidating name, right?

Put that aside, because there are quite a few cool commemorative items you can collect. To begin, you can grab a skin for Heavenhold’s Princess to turn her into the Dead Cells Mushroom Boi Princess.

No, that is not a Toadette hat, what you are talking about, it looks nowhere near the same!

For your own dress up, there are exclusive Hero and Equipment Costumes for Plague Doctor, Knight, and Yun. There is also a big bag of cosmetics to dive into, including a Heavenhold Monument, a Room Background, Portrait Frames, and a themed Sticker Pack. All this, plus a Lucky Roulette Event where you can win even more goodies.

As stated earlier, this collaboration is only around this month, specifically until September 30th. So, download Guardian Tales from the App Store or Google Play before you miss out.
