Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal looks to lure you in by giving away its first level for free
When I was growing up, I did not like the Hitman games. Despite always loving the stealth genre, it just didn’t gel. Then I tried World of Assassination and absolutely adored it, so I want to try the older entries. It is very fortuitous, then, that Feral Interactive has announced that Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal is going to try-before-you-buy.
Sadly, the old days of the PlayStation 2 demo discs are long gone, but try-before-you-buy is becoming increasingly common on mobile, and I love that. It gets even better when you remember the levels of Hitman are huge, with a multitude of ways to play.
You get the whole first level of Blood Money for free, sending you out into an abandoned funfair. I imagine running into Agent 47 in any locale would be terrifying, but an empty, creepy fair? Especially with that face he has on the Blood Money box art? Instant heart attack.

As you might expect, Reprisal gives the game touch screen controls and a mobile-friendly UI, but there are also a few extra features to bring this near-20-year-old favourite to the modern era. The series’ iconic Instinct Mode is present, there are cloud saves and a continue function so you can pick up missions after a little pause, and you can navigate more easily thanks to a minimap.
Now, did part of me pick this topic to slyly mention the 007 First Light trailer from Hitman developers IO Interactive? Of course not, this is a mobile site, and I am a professional. However, since you mention it, dear reader, I suppose I can say it looks amazing, and I am very excited. Think I got away with that.
Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. If you enjoy the first level, you can buy the whole game for $14.99.
