League of Legends: Wild Rift has announced a surprise collaboration with German automobile manufacturer Porsche ahead of the release of its racing-themed patch.

“Are you ready to take on the Rift in a whole new gear? Get your engines rolling…” the official announcement stated.

The reveal video showcased the Porsche 911 GT3, along with a champion silhouette that has fans divided over whether it’s Kai’Sa or Evelynn.

Regardless of who it turns out to be, it appears we are getting a Porsche-themed champion skin in Wild Rift Patch 7.1, scheduled for release on April 9.

While this is definitely a major collaboration, most players won’t be able to experience it, as the game is still not available worldwide.

While seeing Riot Games still investing in top-tier content gives a tiny bit of hope, it is not enough.

Meanwhile, its rivals Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang are aggressively expanding their esports ecosystems.

Most recently, Honor of Kings invested $12 million in Malaysia, with MLBB announcing a $3 million investment for the Season 1 of MLBB Super League Thailand alone.

Moreover, MLBB already has a well-established esports scene and player base, while Honor of Kings has consistently topped the mobile gaming revenue charts in China. Its King Pro League 2025 Grand Finals also featured the most attended esports match in history.

To sum up, the clock is ticking for Riot Games, and while the Porsche collaboration has gotten the community excited for a short period of time, it won’t take long before they lose their interest and move to other titles.

Wild Rift Patch 7.1 Preview Coming on March 26

Riot Games has already confirmed through multiple teasers that three new champions will arrive in the upcoming update. As per the posts from Wild Rift Korea’s Instagram, they are likely to be Skarner, K’Sante, and Taliyah.

The publisher will share official details during the League of Legends Wild Rift Patch 7.1 preview, which will go live on March 26 on the game’s official YouTube channel.
