Magic Chess: Go Go had its esports debut at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), with four countries competing for the crown. In the end, Malaysia came out on top.

Magic Chess: Go Go was not a tournament with a medal but rather a showmatch to introduce the world to this new auto-battler. The participating countries included Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. Each country had two players competing.

The showmatch included five matches, where players wanted to place high. The team with the best average standings was the winner.

“I was excited to be part of the MCGG at the 33rd SEA Games, as it is the dream of every MCGG player, said Malaysia's Muhamad Arif Bin Baharun. "We have been playing this game and training hard to be part of it.

"This shows that everyone has a chance, and I hope that our participation motivates everyone who watched us.”

The results had Malaysia at the top, followed by Indonesia, Philppines, then Thailand.

The esports action continues

The SEA Games has four esports titles with tournaments this weekend: Arena of Valor, MLBB, Free Fire, and FC Online. The action will continue until December 19th.

MCGG is not done with its early esports showcases. Next, it's heading to the M7 Carnival on January 25th, 2026. With Mobile Legends: Bang Bang being one of the biggest mobile titles in Asia, this is a great way to get eyes on Magic Chess: Go Go's first world championship.
