Marvel Snap hosts the Golden Gauntlet World Championship Series, Spiderpals join the fun
It is all kicking off over in them hallowed halls of Marvel Snap recently. Not only does the Golden Gauntlet World Championship Series kick off this Saturday, November 8th, but the Arachnid Anarchy season is already available. Just a note to arachnophobes, you’re safe, it is the Spider-Verse arachnids, not the other ones. Although Man Spider might be too much.
The Golden Gauntlet launched back in August as an open tournament that anyone could take part in. Which, it has to be said, is an excellent move, giving the amateurs a chance. The Opens were held worldwide, and now, on November 8th, we will see the best there is duking it out. Over 300 players will fight it out in 9 Rounds of Swiss, making their way to the Top 16 Playoffs, and then be within touching distance of glory.
It is an exciting time, but what if you are cursed with incurable impatience and need your Marvel Snap fix right now? Well, boot up the game and enter the Spider-Verse, as Spider Punk is here to shake things up. And he has brought friends from across the multiverse.

Spider Punk gives you a new way to disrupt your opponent's strategy, thanks to his ability. He can move once, and when he does, he steals 2 Power from the highest-Power enemy there. Great if you need to curb a runaway powerhouse. Or go to the dark side with The Prowler. On Reveal, you will add 2 Thief’s Tools to your hand. If a card moved last turn, you can set their costs to 0, so a nice little synergy with Spider Punk there.
For Locations, you can put on your smart hat and head to Parker Industries, which provides additional energy at the cost of only playing one card. If you like the louder locale, hit up The Mosh Pit, and get +1 Power to your card at the front of the pack.
You can also enjoy the High Voltage mode from November 14th to 18th, and enter the Sanctum Showdown between November 24th and December 1st for a chance to earn Hydro-Man. On Reveal, he sets the cost of each deck's top card to 1, so it could easily backfire if you aren’t careful.
Marvel Snap is available from the App Store and Google Play.
