Gather your loyal pets and throw them into a horde of monsters with Nether Monsters

I was in the middle of writing something else when this caught my eye, and I immediately scrapped it to discuss Nether Monsters. I watch the news closely, as you’d expect, and I didn’t see anything about this come up, which I don’t understand because it looks pretty interesting.

This is the latest Nether title from Arakuma Studio, and it has taken a little bit of a turn from the norm. Imagine the vertical roaming horde-like gameplay of a Survivor.io was left with the Day Care Couple from Pokemon, and they produced an egg. Nether Monsters would be what emerged from that shell.

Hordes of monsters have invaded the land and are encroaching on you from all directions, so you must fend them off. Grab your weapons and stab as many as possible before you are overwhelmed. However, you won't be doing this alone. You will have the help of tameable monsters that are definitely legacy distinct from Pokemon, even if the trailer does rather prominently splash “Catch Them All” on the screen at one point.

These little fellas will fight alongside you against the ever-shrinking odds. You can breed these allies to make stronger ones, stuff them full of food to raise them, and even cause them to evolve. It isn’t just your cuddly little critters that can go through some changes, though. Your own avatar can be customised with a host of skins from select creators. If you are feeling fancy, however, then you can also design your own.

Nether Monsters is now available to download from the App Store. Arakuma Studio did announce a global launch date of the 25th, however, at time at writing, the Google Play version is still awaiting release, however there has been no news as to when this will change. Expect some delays, then.
