Ateam Entertainment Inc and Square Enix continue their push to be the most prolific updaters of a mobile Battle Royale game with the announcement of new skins for Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier. In addition, Ateam have announced their first official tournament for North American players.

Shining a spotlight on the games headed for Final Fantasy VII's hidden characters, these four new skins hail from that lesser-appreciated but actually quite fun Vincent-headed PS2 shooter, Dirge of Cerberus, as well as the Yuffie-starring Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Players will be able to get their hands on Shelke, Rosso, Nero and Weiss.

These new skins are available in the Advanced Shinra Packs for a limited time, with 20 free tickets being up for grabs through a Log in Bonus. Those lucky enough to pull multiple copies of the Weiss skin will be able to unlock additional effects and unique visuals for the look.

In some rather big news, Ateam has started to accept teams for its inaugural tournament, The First Soldier Championship. Taking place in stages throughout August, there is a 10,000 USD cash pool to be fought over by the Top 50 3-player teams that prove their worth during the in-game qualifiers and preliminaries.

Registrations close on August 4th, so any interested teams in the North America area will need to head to the official site to register. Each team will need at least one member ranked Elite Trooper or higher, and all participants must be over 18. For those in America who want to stare longingly, wishing it was them taking part, the finals of the tournament will be streamed on Square Enix’s Twitch, planned to take place on the 27th and 28th of August.

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.
