I remember in my far-off childhood there was a TV channel that, in the early hours, showcased so many good anime. Inuyasha, Gundam Wing, and of course, Dragon Ball Z. It is perhaps the most classic of shows and has pumped out some incredible games, with one of these, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, celebrating its 10th Anniversary.

To truly mark the occasion, the number of featured campaign characters has increased by four, giving you plenty to shoot for. Part One of the campaign introduced Super Saiyan Goku + Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel), who can fuse into Super Vegito. Part Two continues the trend, with Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel) + Super Saiyan Goku (Angel) fusing into Super Gogeta.

You can never have too much Vegeta, the greatest of the Dragon Ball ball characters and perhaps all anime, and I will die on this hill. This is why Super Saiyan God SS Evolved Vegeta from Part One is still available, as well as Super Saiyan 3 Goku (GT) (Golden Giant Ape). Rounding off the group are Super Saiyan 2 Gohan (Youth), and Frieza (Final Form) (Angel) + Goku.

Super Saiyan Goku + Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel), Super Saiyan Vegeta (Angel) + Super Saiyan Goku (Angel), and Frieza (Final Form) (Angel) + Goku are all packing the new Reversible Exchange skill. When the conditions are met, you change characters anytime during battle, allowing you to change tactics on the fly.

Moving on from new giants in Dokkan to one of the NBA giants, at least in my heart. Dokkan Battle has collaborated with 2024 All-Star De’Aaron Fox for a 10th Anniversary advert. As you will expect he is shilling for the game, but it is pretty cool to see these come together, at least for me.

Finally, we will see a raft of improvements to a few mechanics. The overall UI has had a tune-up to make battles easier to follow, and normal attack animations have been changed to make characters fight as they do in the series. Finally, unique battle motions are being added to characters before Ki Sphere acquisition.

Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
