KartRider: Drift starts Global Racing Test with access for all players
Following a successful pre-registration period, Nexon has announced the next steps for its kart racing party game KartRider: Drift. A Global Racing Test in open beta format will begin on August 31 until September 6th, and is available for anyone to sign up for.
This Global Racing Test truly lives up to its name, being available in Korea, Japan, North America, Latin America and Europe, and is open to anyone and everyone. With extended support for mobile platforms, players can enjoy racing against others with full cross-platform and cross-play support across mobile, PC and consoles. Nexon wishes to intensively validate the racing experience in a full cross-platform test and will be seeking feedback in advance of the full launch.
The test will also showcase updated content, such as the new AI mode matching system to enable eacers to practice fast matchmaking, and a very interesting sounding kart Upgrade System that will allow players to fine-tune their kart’s performance. Another upgrade comes to the License System, which is the tutorial that teaches driving skills according to a given mission, and has expanded to add a new grade. L3 is the greatest difficulty and will be a test against the best of the best. Nexon has added a variety of other improvements since the last closed beta, including an information page with at-a-glance views of play history, and an in-game achievement system to get everyone sucked into completing.
The bad news comes for iOS players, however, as there are only 10,000 copies available on a first come first service basis. Any iOS player will also need to download the TestFlight app to gain access to the test. For everyone else, simply visit the website to gain all the information needed to get involved.
The Global Racing Test will start August 31st at 18:00 PDT and last until September 6 at 06:00 PDT.
