Pokemon Trading Card Live launches its open beta worldwide for all to play

Just in time to coast on the fever of the new generation release, The Pokemon Company International has announced that players worldwide can now take part in the beta of the Pokemon Trading Card Game Live app on iOS and Android.

Following a limited beta earlier this year, the release will open up the experience for anyone to give the new TCG adaptation a go, and give the devs any feedback before the full release. Pokemon TCG Live will feature cards all the way up to the latest expansion of the physical game; Sword and Shield Silver Tempest.

Pokemon TCG Live will be perfect for both novices and true pokemon masters. After logging in, everyone will automatically receive eight fully playable decks for free, including a beginner starter deck for those fresh faces starting out, or anyone who just needs a refresher. Right now the Standard format is available, with the Expanded format confirmed to follow sometime in the future.

For those who play playing with physical trading cards, Live will be fully compatible with the digital booster code in packs, so your digital and physical collections can expand together. You can use your custom deck against friends and foes worldwide, and there is a nice skill level feature that should pair you against someone with relatively the same skill as yourself so it isn’t a soul-crushing defeat against someone's Red Eyes Black Charizard.

When discussing the new entry into the trading card series Barry Sams, the man with the longest job title of The Pokemon Company Internationals Vice Preseident of the Pokemon TCG, said “As we look back on 25 wonderful years of Pokémon, we are once again reminded of how the Pokémon Trading Card Game has always been a strong pillar of the franchise and beloved by young and veteran Trainers alike,”

Pokemon Trading Card Game Live is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
