NetEase Games announces mobile launch date for survival shooter Once Human

If you have been itching to blast some eldritch abominations in the face - shout out to Bloodborne on its tenth anniversary - then you are in luck! NetEase Games has announced that its weird and wonderful shooter, Once Human, is blasting onto mobile on April 23rd. Now, where’s our Bloodborne remaster?!

If you have not seen anything from Once Human yet, you are missing out, quite frankly. It is an open-world survival shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world crawling with all manner of Lovecraftian nightmares. You will need to scavenge for supplies, build huge bases which you can relocate at the click of a button, and, of course, mow down hoards of creepy creatures. 

Clearly, there is a lot of demand for Once Human to go portable, with a massive 30 million players already waiting in the wings. This is enough to unlock all the milestone rewards, by the way, so if you haven’t put your name down already, you really should. Don’t pass up free goodies.

These rewards include two Butterfly’s Emissary Crates, a heap of helpful consumables, a Meta Cap, some cosmetics, and a Mystic Furniture piece that looks like a sheep. Clearly, this is the greatest one of all. Pre-registration will also put you in a lucky draw to win the likes of an iPhone 16 Pro Max, but you know, all hail the sheep.

Life carries on in Once Human even as we wait for our ticket to play, with new mechanics and features being added. This includes the Cross-Character Sharing Feature which will be in place before the mobile launch. This will allow players to share resources across multiple characters on the same account. These include Blueprints and Cosmetics, as well as Mods and Weapon Accessories. Presuming this will also be available on mobile, that will be pretty cool.
