Rainbow Six Mobile turns up the pressure in permanent new 3v3 mode

There is no denying that Rainbow Six Mobile is a fantastic reimagining of the Siege gameplay for phones. The only downside is that sometimes the full 5v5 can take a bit too long to slip into that break when you are waiting for your reports at work, wink wink. Luckily, there's a new permanent 3v3 mode for that quick kick.

Between September 8th and October 13th, this new mode, Close Quarters, will be highlighted in Operation Concrete Impact. Just the name of that makes it sound like an immediate hammer blow. Not only is it a quick pick-up-and-play option, but it's also a great place for new players to learn the ropes. 

In Close Quarters, two teams of three Operators will duke it out in a round that can either be a deathmatch or a zone capture. Shortly into the round, the objective zone will open. Your goal will be to hold the zone or defeat the opposing team. 

In the interest of speed, if no team achieves this quickly, the match will enter Overtime and flood the map with tear gas. This damages everyone until one of the two objectives is met. I find that being hit with tear gas slows down my work, but what do I know?

People who purchase the Premium Battle Pass, boo hiss tomato tomato, will be in with a shout of obtaining the new Operator, Zofia. She is packing the KS79 -LIFELINE, a grenade launcher that has Impact Grenades to destroy the map, or Concussion Grenades to bamboozle foes. I presume the Impact Grenades are also unkind to enemies as well as walls.

Finally, fans of the heist FPS Payday can celebrate with two skins in the game's first crossover with the legendary series: Hibana: Joy and Wamai: Chains. Rainbow Six Mobile is available from the App Store and Google Play.
