Pokémon TCG Pocket launches Secluded Springs set with legendary dog trio
Ah, Legendaries. There was a time that meant something in Pokémon, but now it feels like we are swimming in them. Pokémon TCG Pocket is taking us back to that simpler time with its new expansion, featuring Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Secluded Springs has launched, welcoming us to Johto.
First, the most exciting piece of information, at least for me. Despite there being three legendaries, there is only one card pack for the set. That means not having to swap between packs to get every card. I like that Pocket is being much more consumer-friendly lately, with this and the trade system being corrected.
One of the more interesting cards for me in this set is Celebi. For two grass energy, you deal 40 damage, which is poor, but the effect is intriguing. You devolve your opponent's Pokémon by sticking the highest Stage evolution card into their hand. It might backfire, for example, with Eevee Groves’ Sylveon EX, but I am excited to see how people work this into their decks.

Let’s take a look at the big three for this set: Raikou, Entei, and Suicune’s ex forms. Raikou will deal 60 damage plus 10 to a benched foe for 2 Lightning energy, whereas for two water energy, Suicune will deal 20 damage for each Benched Pokemon, both yours and your foes. Rounding off the pack is Entei, who deals 60 damage for 2 fire energy, which raises to 120 if he has at least 4 fire energy.
Now, these sound decent, but nothing mind-blowing. Until you account for the Legendary Pulse Ability that all three share. If a Pokémon with this ability is in your Active Spot at the end of your turn, you get a draw a card. Given how important getting throw your deck is in Pocket, this is an invaluable Ability.
You can try out this legendary trio by downloading Pokémon TCG Pocket from the App Store or Google Play.
