PUBG Mobile has broken a Guinness World Record.

Just a few days after Friend Fest launched, the PUBG Mobile community has already broken the Guinness World Record for "Most Pairs Performing a Choreographed Handshake (Multiple Venues)." When I heard that, I figured it was a lost cause. But gamers showed up and claimed the record with ease.

On January 25th, the attempt took place at Lapangan Banteng Park in Jakarta, Indonesia, Fisekhane in Istanbul, Turkey, the Guzeria Youth Center in Cairo, Egypt, and Fatima Jinnah Park in Islamabad, Pakistan. A total of 394 participants showed up.

According Krafton, this record attempt was "inspired by the bonds made on PUBG Mobile." It showcased players of different cultures, regions, and communities coming together.

"Each location represents a key civic or cultural hub in its city, underscoring PUBG Mobile’s grassroots connection to everyday community life," said developers.

Friend Fest continues in PUBG Mobile

Friend Fest dropped on January 23rd and will continue until February 16th. The event is meant to celebrate friendships and bonds in PUBG Mobile and beyond.

The Bonding  Tree checkpoints in Erangel and Livik will be pink and have a "special, romantic stage performance" to offer shared experiences for friends. Players can also collect flowers to create and share bouquets in exchange for cosmetics.

There are also in-person events in various countries throughout the next few weeks. Turkey had flower-making workshops, Paris, France had a community river cruise, and Indonesia continues to have in-person community events held in selected cafes across the country.

PUBG Mobile's Friend Fest will take place from January 23rd to February 16th. Download the game and play for free on the App Store and Google Play Store.
