Netmarble unveil the official trailer for upcoming roguelite action RPG Solo Leveling: Karma

Since releasing just over a year ago, Solo Leveling: Arise has been trucking along at a fair old pace and is doing pretty well for itself. So well, in fact, that Netmarble is doubling down on the franchise, having officially unveiled a new roguelite action RPG for the series, entitled Solo Leveling: Karma.

The setting for this game is the Dimensional Gap where, thanks to some funky time trickery in the story, Sung Jinwoo spent 27 years doing battle with the Monarchs. The roguelite mechanics no doubt come from this time manipulation. The goal of this journey is the Broken Cup of Reincarnation, an artefact that can only be fixed by Jinwoo’s fractured memories. 

Thanks to the reveal trailer that was shown off at Anime Expo 2025, we get a small peek at the gameplay. And my immediate thought from seeing it was Hades. Yes, there will be isometric hack-and-slash gameplay in Karma, and that is a pretty fun idea, if they can execute it well.

Through each run, you will gain Blessing upgrades that can buff skill levels and stats, alongside growth-driven mechanics. Hopefully, that takes place with the System, since it is a cool mechanic from the series. Might be unlikely from a story standpoint, but fingers crossed.

What we don’t have to hope for is appearances from other iconic characters from the franchise, at least when it comes to Shadows. You will be able to summon hardy allies in the likes of Iron and Igris and pull off flashy combo skills to dazzle your foes. 

Jinwoo has access to weapons such as daggers, scythes, and bows, and you will need to master them all to take on the pantheon of enemies you will face. Magic Beasts, including The Gatekeeper of Hell Cerberus, Avaricious Vulcan, The Demonic King Baran, and more will stand before you, so you'd best get training.
