Live out your sport anime fantasies with Volley Girls: HS Volleyball (no, not like that)

Volley Girls: HS Volleyball is bringing classic anime volleyball action to your mobile phone. 

I think we've all binged those anime series where high schoolers are competing in overly intense sports games. I can recall a few of those myself, although the overexplanations from bystanders - "he's short, so he has to try harder than the tall basketball player" - really killed it for me. 

However, the spirit of those funny and action-packed anime will soon be on your mobile phone thanks to Volley Girls, which will have you leading an all-girl roster to the national championships. You'll help them improve signature moves and find out more about their backstories. 

The main focus of Volley Girls is the four on four tournament action. You'll need to use precise button controls to serve, set, and spike. These will mostly be time-based, so get ready to draw inspiration from rhythm games. To build the perfect team, you can scout various players from different schools, learn more about their stories, and improve their skills. 

As you climb seasonal leagues and fight through intense playoffs, you will earn exclusive rewards and master new moves (even draining opponents, yikes). There will be live commentary as you play, making it feel much more immersive. Through all these challenges, your players will forge friendships and fight through obstacles together. 

I'll be honest: when I first heard the name of this game, I was a little sussed out. But this honestly sounds quite wholesome and endearing. 

There is currently no release date, but expect Volley Girls to come out later this year.
