Iron Man 2 Review

With Iron Man 2's promotional material reaching almost fever pitch in the lead up to the International release of the film, Gameloft have taken the opportunity to release their game early for those outside the US, providing a unique opportunity to check out this movie tie-in. The game is a fairly standard 3D action-brawler, mixing ranged and melee attacks for combo effects as you unlock them. An analogue stick is used for movement, with different combinations of tapping buttons and th…

Atlantis - Legend of the Mermaids Review

Saving mermaids from terrible fish-men from Atlantis sounds like a fairly typical motivation for any action hero to pick up his weapon and sally-forth. But 'Atlantis - Legend of the Mermaids' isn't your typical beat'em-up from developer Hiray Information and while your everyday-joe may be on a heroic quest, his motivations aren't entirely pure and you'll have to wade through fish-guts and other unmentionables on your epic journey. Atlantis uses twin-stick shooter controls to move arou…

Ice Hockey Nations 2010 gets an Update

Just a month after UK developer Distinctive brought out Ice Hockey Nations 2010 on the iPhone, an update has been made available which improves some gameplay annoyances that were stumping the original release. Based off user feedback, the new update fixes issues with the goal keeper AI, allowing for a bit more speed and intelligence. The movement of the puck is more accurate, helping the player retain possession of it during offensive pushes and passes to team mates. Version 1.1 promises to make the game a bit more playable, with an improved flow to gameplay and much more fun. If you were a bit shifty about the first release, or got your hands on the game, we'd recommend this update. Checko…

Vector Rally Review

Review EJay Studios By Andrew Nesvadba, 4 years, 4 months ago
Vector Rally Review

We've had tilt-based racers, touch-based racers and even line-drawing racers, but now you can try your hand at a turn-based racer. Vector Rally by EJay Studios resurrects the classic pen and paper game from the schoolyard and gives it a 21st century makeover for your iPhone. Be warned, things can get a little bit nerdy from here on in. Much like the title implies, your racer is placed on a grid and its movement is determined by simple vector addition and subtraction depending on where…

Hungry Shark - Part 2 Review

I'm not ashamed to say that I grew up as a SEGA kid and one of my favorite experiences during the 90's had to be the Ecco the Dolphin series. Hungry Shark by Future Games of London puts you in place of a ravenous shark and while you may be twisting and diving your way around the depths of the sea like Ecco, you're not out to save sea-life... you're out to devour it. Virtual pads and buttons are thrown out the window as Hungry Shark uses the accelerometer to give you fine control over…

Simon Graham and the Extraordinary Timepiece, Book I Review

'Simon Graham and the Extraordinary Timepiece, Book I' (deep breath) by The App House is an interesting experiment in trying to recapture what made the Professor Layton series on Nintendo's handhelds so popular. With its turn of the century 'period' style and dozens of interesting puzzles the game certainly steps in the right direction, but will players dive in to the world of Simon Graham long enough to wait for 'Book II'? Most of the game's puzzles are touch-driven, allowing players…
