Mobius Final Fantasy not what you expected? Check out the best classic FF games on iOS

But for many people, Mobius Final Fantasy may well be a bit of a disappointment. To those of a certain age, it's far from the traditional Final Fantasy experience they may remember from the '90s, with all of the hours spent exploring and chatting and fine-tuning your party. Fortunately, iOS is home to a whole bunch of excellent Final Fantasy conversions - usually with enhanced graphics and features. Here are our favourites. Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy IX is the unheralded gem of the series, falling between the peak-popularity years of VII and VIII and…

The top 8 Japanese RPGs that are yet to make it onto mobile

JRPGs make up a huge selection of my fondest gaming memories and I know I'm not the only one. From their diverse cast of characters, intense battle sections, and ridiculous plots, it's hard not to fall in love with the genre once you've played your first. A lot of JRPGs have already made the jump onto iOS and Android but I'll never be satisfied until they're all on there. Hence this list, which is essentially a wishlist of AppSpy's top 8 Japanese RPGs that are yet to make it onto mobile. 1. Tales of Symphonia - My favourite game of all time, Tales of Symphonia has got it all. An addictive and emotionally charged plot, the best characters of any JRPG ever, an action…

Final Fantasy VII is coming to iOS and Android in October, sort of

Here at AppSpy, we're big fans of Square Enix's mobile JRPGs, and we've been waiting patiently for the Japanese giant to announce the legendary Final Fantasy VII for mobiles for quite some time. That wait is finally over. Well, kind of. Square Enix has announced Dive In for mobiles in Japan, a cloud service that allows you to play games streamed over the Internet. First games on the block for distribution? The tepidly received Final Fantasy XIII and stone-cold PlayStation classic Final Fantasy VII. Much like the ill-fated OnLive, Dive In doesn't download the game to your device for play at any time. Instead you constantly stream a video feed of the game running on a supercomputer, whic…
