After a highly successful soft launch that racked up a staggering 100 million downloads, Funplus has released its highly anticipated strategy game Sea of Conquest: Pirate War. This mobile release will be followed by a PC one later this month, but that takes away a lot of freedom being stuck to a desk, and how un-piratey is that?

What makes this number even more impressive is that the soft launch was only in a select few territories, which speaks volumes by itself. Following a story created by AAA writers and full of adventure, and more importantly treasure, now the whole world can hit the high seas together and rule the waves.

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War mixes base management with some thrilling ship combat against other player pirates or large-scale naval warfare involving hundreds of blood-thirsty captains to decide who is left standing with the loot. If you aren’t a fan of water combat, then you can always head off to the unmapped lands and find treasure.

Through your travels, you will meet legendary pirates such as Mad Dog Morrison and Madame Lulu, and add them to your crew. They will obviously need a place to stay, so make sure you expand your ship with cabins and facilities to turn your floating fortress into your own paradise.

The customisation doesn't stop there, as you can collect a trove of decorations to customise your ship and make it look like either a beautiful and elegant angel of the waters or embrace your inner Blackbeard and create a terrifying menace and roam the seas striking fear into every passerby.

When announcing the release, FunPlus’ Chief Business Officer, Chris Petrovic, said: "Sea of Conquest: Pirate War is FunPlus’ latest endeavor, designed to revolutionize mobile strategy gaming. We’re thrilled to introduce players worldwide to a game where freedom, strategy, and adventure converge."

Sea of Conquest: Pirate War is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
