Rainbow Six Mobile is coming soon, but the release has been a bit confusing.

The mobile version of Tom Clancy's competitive shooter was announced back in 2022. At the time, developers stated that the game was coming in the fall of 2024. But after some beta testing, the team decided it needed a bit more time.

From there, the release was delayed till 2025. No exact date was given, but is it still coming this year?

What are the Rainbow Six Mobile phases?

A year ago, Rainbow Six Mobile developers took to Reddit to announce the phases ahead of a worldwide launch. There are three test phases:

  • Phase 1: Technical Test
  • Phase 2: Engagement Test
  • Phase 3: Transitioning to Global Launch

The first phase included a tech test to see how new features worked. The second phase is all about player engagement. Are the features enjoyable?

"This is invaluable to ensure we have a large pool of players, offering optimal matchmaking, fewer bots and more fun!" devs wrote.

The third phase just started, which includes making necessary adjustments ahead of a worldwide release. This includes a deployment of bug centers around the world and final balancing.

It's unclear how long Phase 3 will last. This means we also don't know exactly when the worldwide release will happen. We're hoping it will be in 2025 as originally planned, but let's be prepared for another delay.

How to currently play Rainbow Six Mobile

Not every Rainbow Six fan can play the soft launch version of the game right now. Well, not in theory.

The game is currently playable in Latin America, Canada, France, and Poland. Officially.

However, there are ways to play the game if you don't live in those regions. On iPhone, you can open Settings, go to Media & Purchases, View Account, and then Country/Region. Set this to Canada. You'll then be able to see the game in the App Store.      Android players, we didn't forget about you. Install a VPN on to your phone and select Canada as a region. Launch the VPN, create a new Google account, go to the Google Play store and then find the game. You won't need the VPN to play the game once it's downloaded.
