Garena is continuing its investigation into that one true, really big question: could you shoot a ninja? The second chapter of Free Fire’s collaboration with that giant anime, Naruto Shippuden, which is Naruto but with a growth spurt. This is a good decision. I feel shooting a child Naruto and friends as they flail their hands to use their Jutsu might be a bit far.

Diving into Battle Royale Mode, you will find the Hidden Leaf Village on Bermuda. The area has the scars of the colossal Planetary Devesation Sphere, with a nearby Tsukuyomi area overflowing with the Akatsukis' power. Explore these dangerous places, and you'll find up to six Akatsuki Keepsakes.

These imbue you with special ninjutsu, such as Kisame’s, enabling you to summon sharks to bite foes, or Itachi, thus allowing you to unleash the black Amaterasu flames. If the dark side scares you, you can still harness the eight new Jutsu skills. Flying Raijin Jutsu allows you to launch a kunai and teleport to it, and the Paper Emissary Jutsu spawns paper bombs around your nearest enemy. For that indecisive bunch, grab Sharingan, and just copy your adversary's skill instead.

If you want a few friends watching your back, try the ninja-flavoured Clash Squad mode. Cyber Airdrops are now Divine Tree Airdrops and have Red Moon Points. If a team gets three, they will trigger the Red Moon Phase. This contorts the battlefield, unlocking special buffs and access to a special shop.

Head over to the Epic Ninja Trails, and you can unlock a host of Naruto gear by completing missions. Collecting all six Keepsakes will let you brand yourself with the Akatsuki Title, or you can unlock the Orochimaru Bundle and Avatar to become a legend. Hit the Free Fire Luck Royale, and you can get more rewards, such as the Itachi Outfit Bundle, featuring Free Fire’s first reverse-colour-transformation.

Free Fire is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with the collaboration kicking off July 30th and ending August 31st.
